Toronto International Ballet Theatre ("TIBT", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through torontoballet.ca, why, and what choices you have. We handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

What we collect and why:

When you contact us. Through our contact form we collect your name, email, phone number (optional), the reason for contacting us and your message. We use them to answer you. For example, a question about the performance, a group booking, sponsorship, press or auditions.

When you register for an audition. We collect the dancer's name, email, phone number and any additional information you choose to give. We use them to organise the audition and contact you about it. If the dancer is under 18, a parent or guardian should complete the registration.

When you subscribe to our newsletter. We collect your email address to send news about our performances and auditions. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can unsubscribe at any time. Sending us a contact form or an audition registration does not subscribe you to the newsletter.

When you buy tickets. Tickets are sold by Ticketmaster, not on this site. We do not receive or store your payment card details. Ticketmaster's privacy policy covers your purchase. Ticketmaster may share some of your details with us as the event organiser, as its policy allows. If it does, we use them only to communicate with you about the performance you booked and, where you have agreed, about future performances.

When you browse this site. Like most websites, ours uses cookies and similar tools:

- Wix, our website platform, uses cookies to run the site and keep it secure.

 

- Google Analytics helps us understand how visitors use the site: pages viewed, device type and approximate location. It works with cookie and device identifiers and your IP address; we see the results in summary form and do not use them to identify you.

 

- Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram) and Google Ads tell us when someone who saw our ads visits the site or clicks "Buy tickets". This lets us measure our advertising, and show our ads to people likely to be interested.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout). You can manage ad settings in your Facebook, Instagram and Google accounts.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the site, measure our advertising and communicate with you, such as Wix, Google and Meta. Google and Meta also handle the information they receive under their own privacy policies (policies.google.com/privacy and facebook.com/privacy/policy). Some of these providers store data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local law. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the reason we collected it, or as long as the law requires. After that, we delete it.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No website or email system is completely secure, so please do not send sensitive information, such as payment details, through our forms.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent to us using it. To do so, contact our Privacy Officer below; we answer within 30 days. Withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer respond to an enquiry or keep your audition registration open.

If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).

We may update this policy; the date at the top shows the latest version.
